If a truck is passing you on the highway and signals to move back into your lane, flash your lights to let the trucker know that there is enough space in front of your vehicle for the truck to safely change lanes. The trucker will thank you by flashing his or her lights back at you.
To get a trucker to do this same courtesy for you (which may only work of you are, say, driving a 50- foot bus, and not a little Jetta), put on your blinker as you are passing the truck. This will let the trucker know that you want to move back into the right-hand lane, and will signal him or her to let you know when there is enough space to do so.
I am proud to admit that every time this happened, I squealed with absolute glee. I have never felt so close to truckers before.
